He started saving money regularly and took a loan from his community bank to buy more seeds and fertilizer for his vegetable garden. He was able to pay back his loan on time and save more money for his children’s education. He also bought a cow with his savings, which provides him with milk and manure. Abdul says that Kisoboka has changed his life for the better and given him hope for the future.
  • Mr Wahabu: He is a father and husband who joined Kisoboka in 2020. He used to work as a casual labourer, earning very little money. He wanted to start his own business but lacked the capital and skills to do so. He heard about Kisoboka from his friends and decided to give it a try. He mobilised his community and invited Kisoboka Africa to start a savings group at his community school. He started saving money every week and also attended the financial literacy training sessions offered by Kisoboka. He learned how to plan his budget, save for his goals, and invest wisely. He took a loan from his school community bank in Bukumbula to start various enterprises, including investing in his school. He also bought a motorcycle, which he uses to transport people and goods around the village. He charges a reasonable fee for his services and earns a good income from his businesses. He has paid back his loan with interest and continues to save money for his family’s needs. He also plans to buy another motorcycle soon and expand his business. Wahabu says that Kisoboka has helped him achieve his dreams and become more independent.
