Stephen Katende is a young leader and social entrepreneur from Uganda who is passionate about improving the quality of education and livelihoods of rural communities.

He is the founder and executive director of Kisoboka Africa, a nonprofit organization that empowers parents to save, borrow and invest in their children’s education1. He is also a former project fellow of Building Tomorrow, a program that creates incubation centers for youth in various districts in Uganda.
Stephen Katende has received several awards and recognitions for his work, such as:
The Queen’s Young Leader Award in 2018, which honors exceptional young leaders from the Commonwealth who are making lasting change in their communities.
The World Bank’s #Blog4Dev contest in 2016, which invites young people to share their ideas on how to end poverty and boost development in their countries.
