Empowering the Girl Child through Menstrual Hygiene Management Training

On Saturday 21st August 2019 at Lukindu BT Academy Lwengo District in partnership with Smart Girls Foundation, we played self esteem games with Primary 5 to Primary 7 Girls from Lukindu and Mayira BT Academies, talked to them about Menstrual Hygiene Management(MHM), taught them how to make reusable pads and gave them smart bags that contained eco -pads, MHM booklet and materials to help them make their own pads in our absence.

We also talked to the community that contained the parents and guardians of girls to make sure they don’t sell their smart bags and work as the community to empower girls to stay in school.

We greatly appreciate Smart Girls Foundation Uganda for accepting our invitation, training young girls in our partner schools in menstrual hygiene and life skills and more so providing them with re-usable sanitary pads. Kisoboka Africa is humbled by your commitment in empowering the underprivileged girls and keeping them in school.
