The Youth in Lwengo are going through a Design Thinking process to improve their agricultural ventures. The main facilitator is Katende Stephen , the team leader Kisoboka Africa & he took them through the IDEATION process. According to IDEOU, Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation—anchored in understanding customer’s needs, rapid prototyping, and generating creative ideas—that transform the way products, services, processes, and organizations are developed. Seen below is the Design Thinking we are using.

Kisoboka Africa is taking these youth through the 6 phases of this Design Thinking process to generate ideas on boosting their agribusiness with the goal of improving agricultural value chain in Lwengo District. They are currently on the third phase of idea generation and will be in the field for the next two weeks after which they will come for another phase.

We are happy about the progress these youth are making in building working agribusinesses. The program is supported by the US Embassy in Uganda through YALI Visibility fund and 18 Youth are benefiting from this program.
