Change is happening in Kyasenya village because of the presence of Kisoboka Africa SCOBA.

Usage of financial services in Kyasenya Village generally remains low, resulting in large numbers of people being excluded from services that could improve their livelihoods. The poverty rate in this area has been high and people were struggling to educate their children or buy basic home needs.

But this is changing because of the presence of Kisoboka Africa School Community Bank (SCOBA) in this area. The members are now being encouraged to save and are being trained in business skills to start income generating projects by the Kisoboka Africa Team.

In pictures above are some of the members empowered through the SCOBA program in Kyasenya. Some have started businesses like retail shops, Fish selling, Pan Cake Baking & others have invested in farming.

Kyasenya School Community Bank members are determined to change the story of their community from poverty to prosperity. Through weekly meetings, saving and business skills trainings, their power to build a better future for themselves has definitely increased.

Our goal is to see many people in underserved communities economically empowered to have thriving livelihoods.
